It's an update!

Sun Mar 11, 2007, 8:41 AM
Yay, time for some more pointless ramblings.

It's been ages since I've cleared my messages; sorry for ignoring everyone for about a month. And it's past high-time for an upload, too. So here we are, art and a manip.

I'm kind of creeped out that [link] has over 50 favourites and more than 1000 views now. What's so fascinating about it? It's old and rather clumsily done. And it's creepy! All my manips are! Disconcertingly slightly-too-realistic-to-be-nice creepy! C'mon, people. If you like my art, like something I've put effort and time into. [link] , for instance, which has had barely any feedback.

That's the thing about DevART. It doesn't matter what effort you put in, it just matters if it's a popular theme or not. I was surprised how popular photomanips were; usually it's slash anime people like. But please, if you actually appreciate art, take a look at something better than my freakish animal-person conglomerations. They're really not -that- good.

I think what causes people to look at your manips more than your other works is that it's something that not many people do, let alone do well. As for the other pic you wanted people to look at more, furry art has gotten so popular that a lot of it gets sort of filtered out subconsiously by people that are browsing(or at least that's my experience.)

Memento Mori! ^^

Heh. You can't control what of your arts people look at (although you CAN influence it somewhat by changing your Featured Deviation). I have a few art pieces which took a lot of time, effort, and creativity, and no one looks at them. I also have a couple which were old, sloppy, and horribly horrible, and it gets twice the comments. Ironically, they mostly say how good it is. Blaaargh.

Yeah, I know. ^^ It's just annoying how popularity and skill are so very un-correlated.
