deviantART

It's been a while!

Sun May 13, 2007, 4:41 AM
Well, I've not posted or uploaded here for absolutely ages.

I've got many reasons. One is that I've been really busy with art coursework and the pending exams. Okay, well, really busy procrastinating, anyway. Both my animation and copper piece are done... I might post something related, might not. Regardless, it's not a furry photomanip, so I'd probably get about half a comment.*

The next is that by and large, this site's not a nice place anymore. Nah, I'm not doing the drama 'im leaving devart!!!' thing; I just plain dislike DeviantART now. Maybe I'll stay active here, maybe not. I have a semi-active FA account, even if it's creepy over there, too. Here. Why aren't there any good art communities left?

I have a backlog of thirty-something comments now, too... I'll try and reply to a few, but probably not today. I've gotta get my sketchpad done for art coursework and maybe a couple of maths papers too.

Hmm. I have a lot I could upload. Sketches, photos, digital art - even a photomanip. I might put a couple of things up.

As soon as exams are over, my webcomic's gonna get started for real. I just need time to perfect the site, which I lack right now.

Pspynett out.

*That probably sounds ungrateful. Don't get me wrong, I really appreciate you guys who do leave feedback on my non-manips. In fact, I'd rather have the few comments on non-photomanips I tend to get than the dozens on the photomanips. 'Cause the photomanips are creeepy.

We all miss teh Pspynny! . . . Man, that was the creepiest word I've ever had to write. <.<

:iconpspynett:
Let's see... The ads, the amount of bad art which gets praised, the community (overall, not really individuals), the size, the slowness of the site, the design (mint green and moss? No thanks), the categories for art (anthro's a topic, not a media), the popularity, the pointlessness and plainly, the fact it wastes time I could be spending on better things. ^^
:iconpspynett:
Yeah, 'Pspynett' is quite a creepy word, actually. It splits into Spy Net and 'Spine-et'. A small spine... x3

*Twitches on the floor after trying to pronounce "Pspynettses".*

Ads: I use both of those, but I still hate it when I get the full-page ads which can't be blocked, which happen all the time if I browse while logged out (at school or whenever I don't want to bother logging in).

Bad art: Nah, I'm meaning that the bad art gets shoved in your face a lot more here. It's there in vast numbers (and a lot of it's probably more fetish) on FA, but it's not a piece of trashy fanart anime on the front page, or an 'artistic nude' in the DDs.

Categories: There's no point with forum posts. I don't care enough about the community here to bother trying to get it changed, it's just a waste of my time. Especially as it wouldn't do anything, as it's a recent change and the DA staff clearly see no problems with it.

Of course; I'm not gone yet.

full page ads ? on dev art ? sounds like a malware problem (i haven't seen any of those ads for as far i can remember)

Heheh, I assure you, it's not malware; I'm a Linux user.

Here: [link] - that's what I'm meaning. Log out and browse a bit, it tends to happen once every ten to fifteen pages.
